On a journey through the whole of Egypt, I came to my dream world - Nubian village. In a small place in the south of Egypt. Between the Nile River and the desert, colorful houses are huddled in the pale yellow sand, decorated with colorful patterns, each house brighter and more colorful than the other. The dry desert sun is scorching, but the proximity of the Nile is refreshing. The people here are darker in color than elsewhere in Egypt. Camels with colorful decorations roam the sandy streets, little dark-skinned boys come along and watch me draw houses on my sketch pad, merchants call one by one to buy their colorful souvenirs and many local Egyptian tourists take pictures in front of the beautiful houses. I fell in love with this place and when I came home I decided to paint the Nubian village.
