Eid Mubarak is an Arabic phrase that means “blessed feast or festival”. The term is used by Muslims all over the world as a greeting to celebrate Eid al-Fitr (which marks the end of Ramadan). This exchange of greetings is a cultural tradition and not part of any religious obligation.
Painted in Dahab, in Muhammed’s Bedouin house among the sand and dust under the open sky in the sun and wind together with two Bedouin cats as assistants. The inspiration for this painting comes from my travels to Morocco and Egypt, the beautiful deserts and cities. And the most beautiful moment after sunset during Ramadan, when moon shines brightly, the sun`s reflection is still visible on the desert mountains in the distance, and peace and quiet have fallen over the city.
