Description of the original artwork:
Medium: Canvas, acrylic paints
Dimensions: 2 x 2 m
Origin: Zakynthos, Greece
Year: 2024
While in Palermo, Sicily - Royal Palace & Palatine chapel, I fell madly in love with the twelfth century gold mosaics depicting lions and leopards in a symmetrical composition, with a date palm and other characters in a similar style in the middle.
From the trip to Italy, life took me to Greece, where I finally had time to stick to this dream painting. I bought a 2 x 2 m canvas and got down to business. While painting I was assisted by a cute Greek cat, when the painting was almost half done, another cat joined.
When I came up with the idea for this painting, I had no idea that the cats in my painting would come to life and help the process. I call this painting the manifestation painting of my life.
And I have never eaten more delicious oranges from a tree than those that grow in a beautiful garden on the island of Zakynthos.
The name of the painting, Puta Amore, was born from observing the relationship between cats. Love and hate. First caresses, and then paws in the face.
Thank you Greek goddesses for the opportunity to live two beautiful months on a beautiful Greek island.
